Brrr…Why You Should Have Started Doing Ice Facials Yesterday!
We have all heard about frozen eye patches to calm puffiness under the eyes, but have you tried rubbing a bare ice cube all over your face? Applying an ice cube to your bare skin has tons of benefits, not to mention it’s the perfect wake up call in the morning!
Facial icing is very popular. Although not supported by clinical research, there’s anecdotal evidence that it could be helpful for a number of conditions, such as acne, collagen production, puffiness, and reduction of fine lines and wrinkles. Many people suggest making ice cubes with different ingredients, like aloe and green tea, or rose-hip seed to address specific skincare needs.
There are lots of ways you can give yourself an ice facial.
Most people find the bare ice cube too harsh on their skin, so wrapping a few cubes in a thin cloth or paper towel can help.
When you have built up the tolerance, you can apply the ice directly on the skin in a continuous motion without stopping. Make sure you cover your whole face. The goal is to keep doing passes over your entire face until you are rosy and flush.
This means the blood is circulating and gives your skin that glowy, dewy complexion. We like to leave the remaining water on our face, for our skin to soak up for extra hydration.
After the water has dried, apply your serums and the rest of your skincare. This will also allow for your products to absorb 10x better. It’s also an amazing makeup primer.
